WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC & MANIPULATIVE MASSAGE?
Therapeutic and Manipulative Massage are used to describe the various massage therapy techniques provided. They aim to assist with improvements in health and well-being. Both the client and practitioner will have a shared goal of achieving changes within the body, generally through a series of regular massages.
The massage therapies we offer are primarily used to treat specific problems such as: Back pain, Sciatica, Neck/Shoulder/Elbow/Knee pain, Arthritis, Sports injuries, Stress and Fatigue, Headaches and Migraines, Insomnia, Cold hands and feet, Muscle relaxation, Improve blood circulation, Lymphatic stagnation, Digestive disorders and more.
Halesowen Acutherapy also offer a therapeutic and manipulative massage called Tui Na (Twee Nar). If you are interested in reading detailed information about Tui Na please click here to view this webpage.
How is a massage performed?
The therapist will use their fingers, hands, forearm, elbow, knee or even the foot to apply Tui Na techniques such as kneading, rolling, stretching etc. A blend of rhythmic manipulation and soft tissue pressure is also applied to acupuncture points. This creates harmony within the body by removing stagnant and blocked energy.
What happens before my treatment starts?
As the massage is a medical treatment, the practitioner will in all cases take a full case history including questions about the general health of the patient prior to treatment. We offer as part of this process in a questionnaire that we can send you in an email to speed up your first visit.
